Pink Matte Lipstick

What I’m Wearing

Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lipstick (Color Lumiere 2)

Colourpop Cosmetics has the lip game on lock. It’s taken over the market like wildfire and it’s for good reason. Their lip products are $6 bucks so you would think it’s a lesser than average quality, but nope, their formula is bomb too. To top it off, they have lip colors for days and there’s no shortage of the amount of beautiful colors you’ll find on their website.

What’s the downside? They are only available online and it takes a little over a week from the moment you place the order to receive it. Is it worth it? Definitely!

About the formula, there are two types; Ultra Matte Lipstick and Ultra Satin Lipstick. I ordered two of each formula and they’re both equally great. Prim and Mess Around are Ultra Satin, while Chilly Chilly and Lumiere are Ultra Matte. You’ll see the difference as soon as you wear the shades. The color is heavily pigmented but doesn’t dry out or smear off. It has a soft mousse-like texture that hugs the lip and remains without creasing throughout the day.

I went with these 4 shades because Prim and Lumiere would be closest to my go-to colors being a deep red and pink. As for Chilly Chilly and Mess Around Ultra Matte Lipstick, I was trying to step out of my comfort zone and test out the dark brown and grey trend.

One last thing before I wrap up. My favorite part about the brand is that they showcase their new collection on three different skin colors. That way, it’s easy to get an idea of how it will look against your complexion before making a purchase. I think this is really important because it eliminates the disappointment of ordering something online only to find that it doesn’t look good against your skin tone. Colourpop now has new and exciting collaborations with Disney, Revolve, Kathleen Lights and more.
