My hair’s been in repair for over 2 years now. In its hay day it was nice and long, but after all the bleach, color treatments and frizz control solutions it got shorter and shorter, without cutting it. That’s what they call a chemical cut- when your hair is fried from root to tip and it just starts falling off and turning into an uneven bob. During my journey to find the best frizzy hair solution, I had been consistently doing the Brazilian blow out and flat ironing it with a titanium straightener for years. I had no idea that those two things were making my already dry and damaged hair even worse. I finally caved and cut my hair short and started over but if you have unruly frizz then you know that no matter how healthy it is, the frizz and flyaways never go away. To get rid of it I use an at-home frizz eliminating solution that was gifted to me from the Dermstore called TextureTame. I tested it out right before I went to Miami to see if the humidity would affect the results, and it didn’t. The entire process took 45 minutes to do and my hair instantaneously had a silkier and more refined feel to it. Overall my styling time has been cut in half and. TextureTame is a 3-step process that you can use once every 3 months and includes an anti-frizz solution, a moisturizer and styling cream. It contains Jojoba, Vitamin E and Vitamin C, so it’s safe to use on all hair types, including mine which is a combination of color and chemically treated. TextureTame before and after Here’s how it works. The first step is the solution and eliminates the frizz from the hair shaft. I covered my hair with the solution and let it sit for 30 minutes. Next I used the moisturizer that sealed and conditioned my hair.  I combed it into my hair and in less than a minute it felt a lot softer than it normally would with another conditioner. After I had the conditioner in my hair for 15 minutes, I rinsed it out and used the styling cream. This is what gave my hair the extra shine. I use the styling creme after every wash now, because it duals as a UV ray and heat protectant. Overall, I’m happy with the results. Particularly because after all the damage I’ve done to my hair I’ve become more picky about what I use on my hair. TextureTame does as good of a job as some of the salon treatments out there but in less time. I like how it’s easy to use and withstands different weather conditions.
