Chambray Shirts: Day & Night Edition

chambray shirts

Denim is all the rage these days, but I’m not talking the plain Jane work shirts your horseback-riding grandma would have worn. These outfits rely on flirty skirts and trendy details to bring out the charming side of denim chambray shirts.cWell-placed accessories like bags, shoes and lipstick can make the look daytime fabulous or ready for night.

Look 1: Day

The day look I’m rocking here relies on a mid-thigh skirt with a bright red bag and a pair of black pumps. Denim chambray shirts like this one are versatile, long-lasting and are the perfect work shirts. I paired this with a white fit and flare skirt. You can’t beat red handbags for an awesome way to dress up a day look. It’s the perfect complement to the otherwise fairly neutral white skirt, denim top and patent leather black heels. Of course, don’t forget bright lips, metallic accents and big hair!

Look 2: Night

Now it’s time to up the glam-up your denim chambray shirts up a little. I started with a darker denim chambray shirt and paired it with a pleated skirt which is a perfect nighttime complement. An outfit like this calls for one-of-a-kind leopard heels, you can find A TON on Shoes.com. Leopard print + red lipstick are the best of friends! I opted for red lips here but if that’s not your color go for another shade. Nighttime offers you the option of sporting a darker shade like a dark pink or mauve which would also go well with this print. Don’t forget fun accents like a black bag, midnight nails and a chunky gold watch (and check out my favorite finds of 10 Chunky Gold Watches Under $100).

See how easy it is to rock denim chambray shirts both day and night? Hope this gives you some ideas next time you’re stuck for a cute but classy outfit to step outside in.
