Best Outfit Essentials

Here we are, in the midst of winter, and it’s 90 degrees in LA. Oh wait, that that was yesterday. Today, it’s raining cats and dogs and I don’t know exactly how to organize my closet. Do I pack up the winter gear? Do I bring out the summer wear? Or keep it all in one crazy mess? This thought has been running through my mind all day, so rather than staying in a rut, I decided to work with my year-round closet staples and store the rest. Here are my 4 go-to closet essentials for every season.

The Boyfriend Blazer You can never go wrong with a good one. Mine is long enough to wear with pants or a skirt and, thick enough to keep me warm. I love pairing this grey blazer with a colorful scarf to give it a little extra pizzaz.

Plaid Tee If you don’t have one already, get one! In colder weathers you can wear it with practically anything and leave the sleeves down. On a hot day, rollem’ up, unbutton the bottom and tie it up for a western-style crop top.

The A-line Skirt Best with and without tights. I tend not to put my skirts away simply because they are worn best with or without tights. Side note: Go for layered fabric or thicker material to avoid showcasing the hoo-ha.

D’orsay Pumps A closet staple for decades on decades, but you probably already knew this. I wear pumps mostly with jeans, but they magically work with any bottoms and transition well in different climates (except in the snow). But if you’re a west coaster, you shouldn’t be worried about that.
