Fighting Hunger in America, One Necklace at a Time
July 4, 2015 by Nayri Gregor
What if I told you the necklace I’m wearing provides 7 meals to those in need? It’s true, and in honor of Independence day I’m delighted to share a special cause that’s near and dear to my heart, called HalfUnited. At first glance, it’s just a pretty piece of jewelry with a gold and bold bullet emblem. But it represents something greater- a powerful movement that benefits the fight for hunger in America.
The statistics are shocking; 1 in every 6 people struggles with hunger, and 5 of the 6 are children. It’s something we don’t think about everyday, at least I didn’t until I learned more about the specifics and how taking action is accessible and as easy as buying this necklace and gifting it to others (the same way it was gifted to me).
HalfUnited jewelry is sold on their website and at Toms Marketplace. This is just one of many ways we can help fight hunger in America. To learn more about the severity of the issue and different ways you can join the cause, visit websites like FeedAmerica.org and Meals on Wheels America.
As always, thank you for reading and happy 4th of July everyone!
